SEPTEMBER – CHAPTER MEETING *Arin Carmack with Cardinal Services discusses Risk Management.* Summary: Insurance companies want those they insure to retain some risk. The insured are usually in the best position to reduce their own potential liability thus reducing the insurer's risk of incurring losses. This presentation will address HR's role in Risk Management and techniques to save the company money through "best practice" risk management techniques. Bio: Arin Carmack, Director of Loss Control for Cardinal Services Inc., since 1998. Mr. Carmack is a member of the Corporate Planning Group and manages the Workers' Compensation claims for an approximate 3,000-employee base. Mr. Carmack is the recipient of the Cardinal Presidents Award. Educated at University of Oregon he holds a B.S. in Political Science and a Masters of Business Administration from Northwest Christian College. From 1995-1998, Mr. Carmack served as Intern to Congressman Peter DeFazio as wells as his Staff Assistant and as Manager/Legislative Aide for Representative Kitty Piercy.
