The HR Generalist is responsible for numerous HR Responsibilities included but not limited to administrative functions, recruiting & hiring, benefits, worker's comp, safety, orientation, employee appreciation, engagement & retention. Supports the HR Manager. • Responds to applicant inquiries and incoming calls • Assists with reviewing and updating job descriptions • Responsible for job postings and applicant notifications • Assists with employment verifications, reference checks and application reviews to determine applicants employment eligibility • Coordinators interview schedules and assists with interviews upon request • Responsible for offer letters and background check authorization documents • Creates and maintains complete and confidential employee files • Responsible for New Hire Orientations for newly hired employees to include personnel policies, benefits and other required documents • Responsible for company-wide safety program including quarterly meetings and on-going trainings • Assists with annual performance review process • Responsible for annual EEO reporting • Review and update employee handbook • Creates and provides ongoing Manager/Supervisor trainings as needed • Assists HR Manager with projects as assigned What You Will Need: • Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field • A minimum of three years of HR experience including employee relations, recruiting, hiring, on-boarding, and/or benefits administration • PHR or SHRM-CP strongly preferred • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws • Advanced computer skills in MS Work, MS Excel and database management • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Ability to remain calm under pressure in a busy, fast-paced environment • Strong problem solving skills • Strong verbal and written communication skills • A passion for the work you do!
