Job Summary:
Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the HR Advisor is tasked with helping to achieve the unit’s objectives by recruiting a skilled and engaged workforce. You will collaborate with HR shared services and centers of expertise and guide managers and colleagues to promote the company’s culture and values. This position will be a shared resource between the Scappoose and St. Helens facilities. Job responsibilities: • Handle day to day payroll processing and submit weekly payroll • Leads recruiting efforts including job postings, resume screening, interviewing and final paperwork processing • Responsible for creating and managing leave of absence processes including ADA, FMLA and WC • Manages all new hire onboarding activities • Establishes the necessary training plans for employee development and tracks requirements • Provide coaching to supervisors in establishing objectives, reviewing performance, and building a skills development plan for all employees • Acts as point of contact for employees and managers to respond to HR questions and concerns • Processes employee changes and reimbursements • Maintain all employee files and documentation • Coordinate employee recognition events • Daily interaction with union members on contract questions • Assists HR Manager with various tasks and projects as needed • Serves as back up to the HR Manger when needed Desired Skills and Experience: • Associates degree in related field and/or HR Certification preferred • Minimum 3-5 years of experience as an HR Generalist with strong manufacturing experience • Knowledge of payroll and time keeping systems required (Ulitpro preferred) • Knowledge of HR regulatory requirements such as FMLA/OFLA, ADA, FLSA, etc. • Strong recruitment and labor relations experience preferred • Proficient Microsoft office skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) • Operational abilities and knowledge of the various aspects of human resources: compensation and benefits management, health management, talent management, etc. • Strong communications skills with an ability to get work done through others
