Check out the job description below and come join us! __________________________________________ Job Title: Employee Benefits Specialist Supervisor: Director, Human Resources FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt OVERALL JOB PURPOSE The Employee Benefits Specialist is responsible for the administration of all benefits and retirement programs, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short- and long-term disability, and co-administration of the 401(k) plan. This role will include management of the company’s workers compensation and safety program. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Serve as primary contact for plan vendors and third-party administrators. • Coordinate transfer of data to external contacts for services, premiums and plan administration. • Ensures the accuracy of all benefits enrollments in the HRIS to provide vendors with accurate eligibility information. • Assists Human Resources Director is selection of benefits related vendors, programs, and annual plan renewals. • Coordinate daily benefits processing. Handle enrollments, COBRA, terminations, changes, beneficiaries, disability, accident and death claims. • Oversee maintenance of employee benefits files, maintain group benefits database and update employee payroll records. • Performs quality checks of benefits-related data. • Assists employees regarding benefits claim issues and plan changes. • Distributes all benefits enrollment materials and determines eligibility; assist with new hire orientation of benefit enrollment. • Enrolls employees with carriers and process life event changes. • Responds to benefits inquiries from managers and employees on plan provisions, benefits enrollments, status changes and other general inquiries. • Be familiar with, process and administer all leave of absence requests and disability paperwork: medical, personal, disability, FMLA and any state regulated family leave programs. • Effectively interprets FMLA and ADA implications as they relate to leaves of absences/disabilities. • Responds to 401(k) inquiries from managers and employees relating to enrollments, plan changes, rollovers, distributions, loans, hardships, compliance mailings and contribution amounts. Assists with the open enrollment process. • Provides necessary reports for allocation/billing charges. • Assist vendor with design and distribution of materials for benefit orientations, open enrollment and summary plan descriptions. • Other departmental administrative type duties as assigned. MINIMUM JOB QULIFICATION AND REQUIREMENTS • Associate's degree in HR or related field, but experience and/or other training/certification may be substituted for the education. • Two years' experience in HR and/or benefits administration. PREFERRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE • Bachelor’s Degree in HR or related field, but experience or other training/certification may be substituted for the education. • SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) or SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) certification credential. • Prior customer service experience. ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS • Demonstrated experience with MS Office products, particularly Excel. • Prior experience with Kronos preferred but not required.
