Mid Columbia Producers is a farmer owned cooperative with various locations throughout Oregon and Washington. We are currently hiring a Human Resources Director. This is a full time, Monday through Friday exempt position based out of Moro, Oregon. The Human Resource Director is directly responsible for the overall administration, coordination and evaluation of the human resource function. The HR Director provides Human Resources programs and services to the Division’s operations. This position conducts effective administration of personnel policies, federal and state regulatory compliance, recruiting, benefits, employee development and training, leave and return to work programs. Essential Duties/ Job Functions: • Serve as primary point of contact for employees and customers for Human Resources issues and questions. • Conduct recruitment effort for all positions; work with supervisors to screen and interview candidates; extend job offers; conduct new-employee orientations; conduct exit interviews. • Oversee the Safety Coordinator and employee safety related programs and policies for all divisions including petroleum, retail, grain warehousing, seed production and administrative operations. • Process Payroll with a third-party vendor on a biweekly basis. o Input hours, void checks/ manual check as required. Export payroll from time management system and importing into HRIS. Distribute paychecks o Compile payroll data such as time, garnishments, vacation, insurance and 401(k) deductions. o Facilitate management and employee understanding of payroll procedures. • Conduct research of legislation and HR compliance issues; stay current on recent employment law changes. Establish systems to facilitate compliance. • Complete data entry in HRIS of new hires, rehires, terminations, status changes, and all critical and non-critical employee information changes. • Direct and plan the day-to-day operations of group benefits programs (group health, dental, vision, worker's compensation, flexible spending plan, 401(k)plan, etc.) o Design, recommend and implement new benefits programs. Examine possible plan designs and benefits cost changes. Negotiate with vendors and administrators for best plans, options and rates. Skills/Education Required: • Three years of professional-level experience in human resources at a management level • Must be a self-starter with the ability to prioritize with the highest level of professional conduct, integrity • Advanced interpersonal and social skills o Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, over the phone and in writing. • Must be comfortable with the use of a various forms of technology: Thorough knowledge of MS Office suite • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Work with computers, sitting for 8+ hours Skills/Education Preferred: • Bachelors degree in business administration or related field • SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential. Compensation is DOE. There is a up to $5,000 relocation reimbursement available for the chosen individual who must relocate in excess of 100 miles for this position. Employment will be contingent upon the successful completion of a pre-employment physical, drug screen, background check and MVR.
